Step 1, Grab the Iron

So I started off my "Avengers" week by watching "Iron Man" and "Iron Man 2." I know, this is not the order in which the Marvel films were released, but I did some research and found that the best way to prep for "The Avengers," is by watching "IM," "IM2," "The Incredible Hulk," "Thor," and "Captain America." The research came through...there's a greater appreciation for the end scene in Hulk after you watch Tony Stark twice. Let's get back to the man of iron here, shall we? "Iron Man" debuted in May of 2008 to great reviews and big numbers at the box office. Little did we know that one tiny scene after the credits would start the superhero phenomenon that we have this weekend. It's one of the best movies of the 5 that lead up to Avengers. An Oscar nominated cast plus a great director equals fun for everyone. Our favorite narcissistic superhero returned in 2010 with "Iron Man 2." Although this movie is not as good as the original, the race track sequence at the Grand Prix in Monaco could quite possibly be the best action sequence in all of the Marvel films leading up to Avengers. Maybe I'm just a sucker for open wheel racing, but throw in a superhero, and a suitcase of armor, and you've got a well-done scene. Closing the book on Iron Man, both movies are good with the first being the best, but there's more action in the second. Plans are already underway for "Iron Man 3" so expect to see Tony Stark and the gang really soon.
